What else can you ask for?
Here Coziness is written in capitals.
A resort for relaxation – for an unforgettable stay in the mountains.
Since 1926 …
When the lodge was constructed in 1926 by the current operator´s grandfather, it was first only used for the summer cultivation of alpine grass found in the Schatzer yards.
27 years later, the Schatzer Lodge had already become a coveted destination for guests coming from places far exceeding the local borders. This can in large part be attributed to the already spectacular cuisine provided by “Schatzer Luis”, the uncle of the present-day innkeeper.
In 1982 Franz Pernthaler took over the hideaway and 16 years later had the lodge renovated. With the renovation came rooms, sanitation facilities, as well as the kitchen, all of which was done with special care to preserve the lodge’s original and quaint character, while conforming to modern standards.
Simply quality …
The sleeping quarters – ranging from rooms with two beds to camp-beds in annexes – comfortably limit themselves to the essentials and are likewise rustic and pragmatic. Showers and toilets are provided, just as is typically for lodges, not in the rooms. However, because the humid rooms are in top notch condition, no one here has to sacrifice comfort.
The heart of the Schatzer Lodge strikes a veranda bathed in light and a small quaint tiled stove – since year one the rooms are the place to congress in a pleasant atmosphere.
In addition to the quaint coziness and dreamlike location, it’s the culinary expertise of Franz Pernthaler that has made gastronomes the world-over recommend the Schatzer Lodge.
The excellent menus, prepared every evening by the lodge’s chef for the guests, have to be compared with, but do not pale in comparison to, those that the majority of the so-called gourmet restaurants offer their diners. Ultimately he learned his upscale gastronomy craft, with star chef Heinz Winkler among others. And thus the chef ‘de Cuisine’ daily conjures up new Lucullian marvels based on traditional Tyrolean cuisine, and thereby is the freshness of his ingredients particularly close to heart. These ingredients and his creativity secure him over and over again the admiration of his guests.
Since breakfast cannot be more beautifully imagined, whoever lodges here should grant himself the pleasure of half-board. With its freshly baked bread from the house’s own wood fired oven, in addition to the homemade marmalade and other goodies, the Schatzer Lodge breakfast provides a great start to the day.
And on more tipp: If you’ve been out hiking all day and return to the lodge feeling a bit parched, it is a must to ask for the elder lemonade – its more than worth it!
In addition to the extended stays, the Schatzer Lodge offers daily visitors as well many great reasons to stop by for a bite to eat. There are hearty and refreshing snacks for hikers. In the afternoon, our own baked cakes and coffee entice hikers and the dinner menus conjure up smiles on everyone’s face, even on the most pampered of epicures. It is however recommended to make reservations for groups.
Apropos groups: the Schatzer Lodge provides exclusive settings for celebrations and functions of all kinds (from weddings to company meetings and birthdays to anniversaries). Here you can celebrate like no where else.
